Strategic Property Review Report

Council has responsibility for a large number of building and land assets that serve both community services and operational requirements. The purpose of the strategic property review is to ensure that Council facilities are fully utilised, as required for existing and future Council operations and community needs. It is anticipated that the review process will identify properties that are required, those that could be better utilised, and surplus properties suitable for disposal.

The Strategic Property Review was an initiative of the 2023/2024 Annual Business Plan and Budget. The project was undertaken by a Project Team which comprised of staff from a number of different Council departments, to ensure that all relevant information was captured and analysed.

The Strategic Property Review Report includes the overall project objectives and a summary of the alignment to the Strategic Directions 2035, Four Year Priority Action Plan 2024-2028, and the relevant connections to Council operations. Detailed property summaries have been developed for each site for which Council has ownership or care and control. The property summaries include the address, rating assessment numbers, title information, valuations, community land management plan references, current lease and licence
arrangements, and immediate or future actions and plans and strategic references.

The Strategic Property Review includes 10 Recommendations which will require further consideration from Council, and in some cases, public consultation and further budget allocations to progress.
