Port Augusta City Council is seeking 6 Community Representatives for its Great Western Bridge Timbers Repurposing Advisory Group.
The objectives of the Advisory Group is to provide advice and guidance to Council administration in relation to the allocation of timbers to community members/groups, and potential projects for the repurposing of timbers to be retained by Council.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
Gatekeeping Central Oval – Community & Sporting Clubs

Port Augusta City Council are inviting Community Groups and Sporting Clubs and Associations to submit an application to be considered for Gatekeeping duties at Central Oval from April to September 2024 each Saturday.
In return, Council will provide a total financial sponsorship of $4,500 to one or more successful applicants in return for their volunteers to admit patrons to the facility at Gates 1, 2 and 3 at Central Oval, between 7:30am to approximately 4:00pm. In the event of multiple successful applicants, the total financial sponsorship will be pro-rated.
Applicants (Community Groups/Sporting Clubs) will be required to provide proof of their Public Liability Insurance, and nominated volunteers will need to be over 18 years of age and have a current DHS Working with Children Check, and may require a National Police Check.
The role will require the volunteers to operate a Council tablet loaded with a point-of-sale system to help track and record the entry. Training will be provided prior to the first match day. A Council staff member will coordinate the scheduling of volunteers and be onsite to oversee the volunteers each Saturday.
The successful applicant(s) will be offered a Memorandum of Understanding (see Definitions) arrangement. All applications with be considered individually.

REQUEST FOR TENDER
Reconstruction of Zerna & Ritma Road Intersection, Port Augusta

Port Augusta City Council invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of reconstruction of Zerna and Ritma Road intersection in the current financial year 2023/2024.
The road is being used by heavy vehicle which consist of trailers, heavy cranes, and road trains. Road pavement at the intersection is in poor condition with some crocodile cracks, potholes, and loose pavement material which has become a hazard for turning vehicle and other road users. The council has sourced a design from Sproutt to address the above issue and reconstruct certain sections of Zerna and Ritma Road intersections. The purpose of this contract for services is to construct a road in line with the design and as specified within the scope of work documents.
Council will enter into a Works Agreement with the successful respondent.

Parks, Gardens, Ovals & Footpath Maintenance

Port Augusta City Council invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of Parks, Gardens, Ovals and Footpath Maintenance.
The Tenderer shall provide the Services in accordance with the Specifications.
The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer.
The Council provides and maintains a number of community spaces for the benefit of residents and visitors.
The quality community spaces not only promotes use and enjoyment, it provides a space that is enticing and contributes towards a positive city image.
The purpose of this Tender is to establish and ensure that the vegetation (grass, turf and weeds) in parks, gardens and sporting ovals is maintained to a consistent and appropriate standard in consideration of seasonal and natural fluctuations. In addition, this tender also includes weed control for Cemeteries, Footpaths, Walkways, Cul-de-sacs, Road Reserves, Open Drains, Road Seal, Carparks and Traffic Islands.
The Council will enter into a Contract with the successful Contractor for a Period of three (3) years with an option for two (2) x twenty-four (24) month extensions, such extensions to be at the absolute discretion of the Council.
The Council will enter into a Fixed Price Contract with an option to enable the successful tenderer to seek a price review annually prior to the Anniversary Date of the Contract. Price amendments will be agreed, or not, after consideration by Council for commencement after the Anniversary Date of the Contract. Price increases are to be no greater than the CPI – All Groups Adelaide, for the quarter previous to the request for amendment.
The Council will require the successful tenderer to acknowledge within the Contract documents that it must comply with Council’s Social Media Policy. Any comments made in relation to Council activities may be deemed a breach of a material term of the contract which may lead to termination of the Contract.
Any disposal of land during the term of the contract will result in the scope of works and contract rates being adjusted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
Finance Reference Group Membership
Port Augusta City Council is seeking NEW expressions of interest from Community Members to participate in a newly formed Finance Reference Group. Up to seven (7) community members will be appointed by Council.
The objective of the Finance Reference Group is to review the draft budget and engage with the broader community in relation to the annual budget development process. The Finance Reference Group will be able to make formal recommendations to Council in relation to ideas, suggestions, and community feedback through the budget development process.
The membership of the group is voluntary, with no sitting fees applicable. It will be up to the Reference Group to determine an appropriate meeting time, place and frequency, although it is anticipated that there may be regular meetings throughout the year increasing in frequency during budget development.

Members of the Finance Reference Group must be residents and/or ratepayers of the Port Augusta City Council Area.
