Eastside Pontoon

Pontoon Construction

Port Augusta locals can look forward to a new swimming pontoon on the Eastside Foreshore, with construction commencing soon.

In August 2021, the State Government announced $1 million in funding for a swimming pontoon to be built in Port Augusta.

Following consultation with Port Augusta City Council on location and design, the PW2PA Alliance will deliver a new swimming pontoon on the western side of the Joy Baluch AM Bridge.

During information sessions held in late 2022, the community was invited to provide feedback regarding the colour of the structure. As a result, the swimming pontoon will be constructed using a combination of black and grey (see image above).

The swimming pontoon is scheduled to open in mid 2024, weather permitting.

Carpenter's Landing Boat Ramp Restrictions

Construction of a new swimming pontoon on the eastside Foreshore will be starting soon.

The Carpenter’s Landing boat ramp will be used intermittently from Friday 10 May 2024 to late June 2024 to transport materials across the water to the construction site. Access to one side of the boat ramp will be restricted during this time.

The swimming pontoon is scheduled to open in mid 2024, weather permitting.

We appreciate your co-operation and patience while these important works are undertaken.
