Carpenter’s Landing Carpark Upgrade
Date of works: February - April 2015
Work on upgrading the Carpenters Landing Carpark commenced in February 2016 and is due for completion at the end of April 2016.
The dates for construction were selected on advice from the Marine Advisory Committee which comprises of community members.
Scope of the project:
The carpark surface had reached end of life and required upgrading, with Council allocating $200,000 from its Capital Works Program (2015/16) to reconstruct the carpark surface. To coincide with the construction of the new carpark surface, Council received $60,000 in funding to complete the levee bank that previously finished on either side of the boat ramp and carpark facility.
The levee bank is required as part of coastal protection to protect the public and public property from tidal sea surges and rising sea heights over the next 100 years. The levee bank has been built to a height of 3.8m ATD (Australian Height Datum) from its previous height of 2.4m.
