Sport and Recreation Facilities Blueprint Review 2021
The Port Augusta City Council Sporting Facilities Blueprint was first adopted in 2011, prior to the redevelopment of the Central Oval precinct. A review was undertaken in 2021 to consider updates now that the Central Oval Complex has been operational for 6 years.
The Facilities Blueprint aims to;
- Update previous plan with current state of facilities, and the needs of local user groups
- Identify areas for consolidated sports planning (precincts)
- Address ageing infrastructure across the city
- Prioritise precinct planning and asset renewal
- Look at opportunities for shared or joint use agreements
- Align with Council’s Strategic Directions 2019-2029
- Align with changing State Government strategic plans, such as the “Game On” strategy
