Scabies

Scabies is a highly contagious mite infection of the skin caused by a parasitic mite.  It spreads from person to person mainly via prolonged (several minutes) direct skin to skin contact - although sharing the same bed, clothing or even living in the same house as an infected person can cause infection. Any unexplained itching or rash may indicate a Scabies infestation and a prompt medical diagnosis is warranted.
