Fruit fly has now been eradicated in Port Augusta.

With your support, work to get rid of fruit fly in your area was successful. Restriction on the movement of certain fruit and vegetables have now lifted, so you can now move them from your property. To prevent future outbreaks please continues to maintain your backyard: Pick - Prompty pick your ripe fruit and vegetables. Prune fruit trees so you can pick more easily next season. Collect - Collect fallen fruit. Put unwanted fruit and vegetables in a green bin. Check - Check your fruit for blemishes and maggots.
