Community Consultation

This community consultation has closed

Port Augusta City Council is seeking community feedback regarding a proposed upgrade to the Ryan Mitchell Swim Centre.

The Ryan Mitchell Swim Centre is approximately 50 years old and Port Augusta City Council have secured Government funding to undertake an upgrade of the Centre to address the ageing facility and reduce increasing running costs of the popular public asset.

In early 2021 it was announced that Port Augusta City Council would receive $1.01 million from the State Government's Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program.

The project includes replacing all of the plant, pipes, filters and chemical dosing facility; minor refurbishments to the ablutions and office building; and installing a disabled ramp, a pool liner, solar panels, and a ‘water play park’.

Port Augusta City Council would like to know your thoughts on the upgrade to the Ryan Mitchell Swim Centre. Community Consultation survey forms are available from the Civic Centre at 4 Mackay Street (foyer area) or you can phone 8641 9100 to have a survey sent to you.

Consultation commences December 6th 2021 and Closes January 2nd 2022.
