Port Augusta set to host the 2025 SA Masters Games

Port Augusta City Council’s application to host the highly anticipated 2025 SA Masters Games has been successful. Recently announced by Sport SA, the games will give Port Augusta an opportunity to showcase the city's exceptional sporting facilities and unique location.

Port Augusta City Council's application secured a diverse range of sports for the games, including Golf, Basketball, Lawn Bowls, Table Tennis, Badminton, Gymnastics, Shooting, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball. With the advantage of a two-year lead time, Council is confident in expanding the sports line up, ensuring an even more thrilling and comprehensive event.

One of the key highlights of the 2025 SA Masters Games will be the city's unparalleled location at the Crossroads of Australia. Nestled between the majestic Flinders Ranges and the Outback, and with the stunning backdrop of the Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta will provide an enchanting setting for both participants and spectators.

Mayor Linley Shine expressed her enthusiasm about the win, stating, "We are thrilled to be offered the opportunity to host the 2025 SA Masters Games in Port Augusta. With our unique location, exceptional facilities, and a wide range of attractions, we are confident that we can deliver an extraordinary event for all participants and visitors. The Central Oval Community Sporting Hub, the Ryan Mitchell Swim Centre, and the Port Augusta Golf Course all offer top-notch amenities and infrastructure to ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants.” Mayor Linley Shine stated.
