Stirling North Country Fire Service – Request for 15 year Lease
The Stirling North Country Fire Service has sought support from Council to have a long term lease for their facilities located on Smoker Street, Stirling North, within Section 1237 Hundred of Davenport, GRO Plan 105/2003, Certificate of Title Volume 5554, Folio 657.
As the land is classified as Community Land, under the provisions of Section 194 of the Local Government Act 1999, Council must before entering into a lease longer than 5 years, seek comment from the community. The Stirling North Country Fire Service wish to secure a longer lease period to support their proposal to demolish the existing two storage sheds and replace them with a larger three bay shed which will allow the Brigade extra storage for vehicles. An extended term lease would ensure their development proposal is viable.
Council at its meeting held on 25 February 2020, supported in principle the application from the Stirling North Country Fire Service to enter into a 15 year lease agreement at the expiration of their current lease which is due to expire on 30 June 2023.
