Stormwater Management Plan (SMP) Community Consultation

Port Augusta City Council, with joint funding from the Stormwater Management Authority, is preparing a Stormwater Management Plan (SMP) for Port Augusta in partnership with a consultant team led by Southfront.

The Port Augusta SMP will provide greater clarity to the extent of the stormwater management related issues for Port Augusta, Stirling North and the communities on Shack Road and Miranda. The SMP will also guide Council’s decision making processes to better manage flood risk, water quality, stormwater detention/retention, water reuse and development.

Council is eager to engage the community about the plan given the range and complexity of stormwater management issues in the study area.  More information about the Plan can be found on Council’s website and upcoming Open House session.

COMMUNITY CONSULTATION SESSION

Port Augusta City Council would like to invite anyone that is interested to visit the Open House session at the Public Library for as little or as long as you would like to learn about the project and provide information that can contribute to the development of the plan.  A community Open House session will be held at the Port Augusta Public Library on Wednesday the 17th of April 2024 from 10am to 3pm.

CONSULTATION PERIOD

Any input, comments or feedback on the Plan is welcome during the Consultation period from Monday 8th of April through to Monday the 29th of April 2024.
