The Port Augusta City Council are seeking an experienced Building Officer to join the Infrastructure team to assess development applications against relevant legislations/codes and ensure compliance and conformity with development approvals and legislation.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards which relate to building and development
  • Understanding of the role and function of Local Government
  • Experience in preparing detailed reports on matters related to building approvals
  • Relevant experience in the building industry
  • Current drivers licence of at least Class C
  • Keyboard keys sufficient to efficiently input data, access information and prepare reports, letters and approvals
