Australia Day Awards

Australia Day Citizen Awards, Young Citizen Awards and Community Event of the Year Award are presented annually to local citizens/groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community.

The Awards are provided by the Australia Day Council of South Australia and are administered by Local Government Authorities throughout the State on behalf of the Council.

Nominations are now OPEN for:

  • Australia Day Citizen Award:
    The most outstanding Citizen for the local government authority.
  • Australia Day Young Citizen Award:
    The most outstanding Young Citizen for the local government authority. Nominees for this category must be 30 years of age or less on 26 January in the year of the award presentation.
  • The Community Event of the Year Award:
    Presented to the person/group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.

Presentation of the Awards

The Awards are to remain confidential until presentation by the Mayor at the Australia Day Celebrations held at Gladstone Square on 26 January 2019.
