Port Augusta City Council are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanic to provide maintenance under the direction of the Works Depot Team Leader.

The successful applicants responsibilities will involve effectively managing and coordinating the allocation and deployment of resources within the Works/Parks Department as well as preventative maintenance and repairs to Council plant and equipment.

It is emphasised this position is “hands on” but will also require reporting skills to meet best practice standards.

The successful applicant is required to supply own hand tools.

Hours of duty are between 7:15am and 4:30pm with a 45 minute break for lunch, Monday to Friday with one Rostered Day Off (RDO) per fortnight.

Applicants must be physically fit, have proven experience or a qualification as a Mechanic and hold a minimum HR class drivers licence.
