Port Augusta Strategic Directions Report Discussion Paper
This Paper is intended to generate ideas and debate amongst the community in relation to the future development of Port Augusta. Importantly, the ideas presented in the Paper are just a starting point and have been offered to prompt further discussion. Following consultation with the community, a range of policy responses will be prepared to establish a framework around which the Council’s planning controls will be amended.
The purpose of a Strategic Directions Report is to provide the community and the Minister for Planning with a clear indication of the development issues affecting the council area and how such issues can be addressed by future amendments to the Port Augusta Development Plan. The review may also identify the need to introduce new planning policies and may suggest amendments or deletion of existing Development Plan Policies.
The Strategic Directions Report will be on public consultation from Wednesday, 15 May 2013 until Friday, 12 July 2013. Copies of the Strategic Directions Report are available during normal office hours at the Port Augusta City Council offices and during library opening hours at the Public Library located at 4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta. Alternatively the Strategic Directions Report can be viewed on the Council’s website.
