Performer Details Australia counts on carers, and National Carers Week, which runs from 15 – 21 October 2017, is a time to celebrate and recognise the 2.7 million Australians who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, or who is frail aged. Carers make an enormous contribution to our communities as well as our national economy. Should all carers decide to stop performing their caring role, it would cost the country $60.3 billion per year to replace those supports – that’s over $1 billion per week. Carers SA Northern Country will be celebrating the amazing support family carers provide by hosting a mystery BBQ day to a surprise destination that will delight carers and also ensure a relaxing day out. A bus will leave from our Port Augusta office and take carers to a surprise destination to enjoy in the company of other carers as well as a delicious BBQ. Bookings are essential for the Mystery BBQ and can be made by phoning the Carers SA Port Augusta office on Ph 86411844.
